Procurement Specialist – Energy & Utilities

I'm recruiting for an established energy-intensive chemical manufacturing business in Teesside looking to appoint a Procurement Specialist with a strong focus on energy procurement and market strategy.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Developing procurement strategies across electricity, natural gas, utilities and emissions allowances.
  • Leading energy sourcing, including fixed, indexed and blended pricing models.
  • Monitoring energy markets, pricing trends and regulatory developments.
  • Managing relationships with energy suppliers, brokers and intermediaries.
  • Supporting energy budgeting, forecasting, consumption analysis and cost modelling.
  • Identifying opportunities around green electricity, PPAs, biomethane and solar.
  • Developing strategies to manage energy price volatility and supply risk.
  • Supporting wider carbon reduction and sustainability initiatives.

We're looking for:

  • 5+ years' procurement/sourcing experience.
  • Proven experience negotiating in commercially complex or volatile markets.
  • Strong understanding of energy procurement, utilities or energy markets.
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills.
  • Ideally experience within chemical, process, manufacturing, industrial or other energy-intensive environments.
  • Experience with CCL, EII, NCC, CPS or renewable energy procurement would be advantageous.
