Are you passionate about supporting local communities and helping deliver high-quality, sustainable food? We are one of Europe’s leading food processing companies, and we're looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our dynamic team in Llanybydder!

We are looking for a Procurement Supply Chain Apprentice to join our existing team at Llanybydder. The successful candidate will gain a comprehensive understanding of the site’s end-to-end processes and will be responsible for organizing and coordinating raw materials supplied by producers via procurement officers and agents to meet the daily production requirements.

Responsibilities

Your main duties will include:

General Duties

  • Ensuring Procurement targets are met within deadlines, without compromising quality or control of costs
  • Ensuring good housekeeping is maintained
  • Ensuring that Quality, Health & Safety, and other Company policies are adhered to and liaising with relevant departments to ensure issues are resolved
  • Maintaining good employee relations and promoting equality of opportunity
  • Working within the Dunbia Mission, Vision & Values

Specific Procurement Duties

  • Coordinating daily production planning requirements for raw material
  • Controlling all livestock book-ins
  • Ensuring production requirements are met and requirements outlined to the wider team
  • Coordinating livestock numbers for overnight lairaging
  • Acting as a point of contact for producers and hauliers supplying Dunbia Llanybydder
  • Communicating to field Officers and Agents raw material requirements and prices upon agreement by management
  • Addressing and recording producer queries/complaints
  • Monitoring Farm Assurance and organic status of all procurements made by Dunbia Llanybydder, ensuring records are up to date for auditing purposes
  • Ensuring all relevant documentations are all completed to acceptable standard
  • Maintaining up to date farm assurance and traceability records from producers to whole carcass
  • Promoting the Dunbia brand at all times
  • Assisting in maintaining and improving company advertising and promotion possibly through attending site visits, meetings, agricultural shows, and other related events as a Company representative
  • Completing relevant animal welfare training, ensuring full compliance at all times
  • Liaising with the central payments department regarding supplier payment queries
  • Liaising with the Procurement Manager and/or Procurement Field Officers regarding relevant procurement enquiries
  • Supporting with project work within the department
