About The Role

We are looking for an organised and proactive Procurement Officer to join our Procurement Team and support the delivery of efficient, compliant and value-focused procurement services across the Council.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in procurement, governance, or commercial services. You will play a key role in supporting procurement activities, maintaining systems and records, undertaking research and analysis, and helping ensure procurement processes comply with current legislation and Council requirements.

Working closely with procurement colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation, you will contribute to delivering procurement projects that support service improvement and provide value for residents.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Providing day-to-day administrative and coordination support across a range of procurement activities.
  • Assisting with the preparation of business cases, procurement documentation and governance reports.
  • Undertaking market research and framework analysis to support procurement decisions and sourcing activities.
  • Supporting the delivery of low-value, low-risk procurement exercises, including quotation and further competition processes.
  • Publishing procurement notices in line with Procurement Act 2023 requirements and legislative timescales.
  • Analysing spend and procurement data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Producing procurement reports and management information to support decision-making.
  • Maintaining procurement systems, contract registers and document repositories to ensure accurate records.
  • Supporting supplier engagement activities and procurement compliance checks.
  • Managing procurement inboxes, responding to enquiries and escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Taking minutes and maintaining records of procurement meetings, evaluation panels and governance discussions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
