Your Responsibilities
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join LGE at an important stage of its growth and help shape the future direction of the practice. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to build relationships, develop new opportunities and strengthen Lockton’s profile in the market.
They will be an effective connector: someone who builds trust across clients, markets and internal teams, brings people together and turns relationships into opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Relationships
- Develop and execute a business plan to achieve agreed revenue and new business objectives.
- Originate, qualify and convert opportunities across renewable energy.
- Build trusted relationships with senior decision-makers, investors, lenders, advisers and project sponsors.
- Maintain a high-quality prospect pipeline and lead client meetings, proposals, tenders and appointment discussions.
- Identify opportunities to introduce Lockton’s wider specialty, advisory and international capabilities.
Client Advisory & Market Engagement
- Understand clients’ businesses, projects, financing structures and risk priorities.
- Coordinate technical, servicing, claims and placement colleagues to develop tailored solutions.
- Work with broking teams to shape placement strategy and support negotiations on complex risks.
- Maintain strong insurer relationships and a clear understanding of market appetite and emerging risks.
- Ensure newly won clients transition smoothly into the account management structure.

Market Profile & Collaboration
- Represent Lockton at conferences, industry forums and client events.
- Build market visibility through relevant thought leadership, podcasts, webinars and roundtables.
- Develop referral relationships with legal, financial and technical advisers.
- Collaborate openly across LGE, sharing opportunities, relationships and sector intelligence.
- Support major pursuits and contribute to the wider growth of the practice.
Salesforce, Data & AI
- Use Salesforce consistently for pipeline management, forecasting, contact records and next actions.
- Maintain accurate and timely CRM data that supports effective decision-making.
- Use AI tools effectively and responsibly for research, meeting preparation, prospecting, content development and follow-up.
- Protect confidential information, apply sound judgement and validate AI-assisted work before use.
Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Proven insurance broking, production or client advisory experience, ideally gained within a major broker or specialist energy practice.
- A track record of originating and winning complex new business. Knowledge of renewable energy, power, infrastructure or adjacent sectors.
- Established relationships across the insurance market and energy sector.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, influencing and relationship-management skills.
- Experience managing a structured pipeline through Salesforce or a comparable CRM.
- An entrepreneurial, collaborative and accountable approach.

Desirable
- Experience advising developers, IPPs, infrastructure funds, utilities, lenders or private equity investors.
- Knowledge of project finance, lender requirements and the project lifecycle.
- Experience with solar, wind, BESS or power generation.
- ACII qualified or working towards qualification.
Success Measures
- Achievement of agreed revenue and new business targets.
- A strong, well-managed pipeline with accurate forecasting.
- Growth of Lockton’s energy transition client portfolio and market profile.
- Development of strategic client, adviser and insurer relationships.
- Effective collaboration across technical, placement and servicing teams.
- A positive contribution to LGE’s culture and long-term growth.
