If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC and fulfil your potential. Whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or simply take you in an exciting new direction, HSBC offers opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with operations in 64 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

The Opportunity

As a Product Analyst in EUC Remediation you’ll support a Group-wide product focused on remediating and retiring end user computing (EUC) solutions across HSBC. The role centres on detailed discovery and assessment of business-built tools and the processes they support so teams can move solutions through a structured remediation lifecycle. You’ll work closely with EUC owners, business subject matter experts, Product and Technology teams to clarify requirements, dependencies and practical remediation outcomes. Your analysis will help separate business-critical needs from legacy implementation and shape sustainable replacement or retirement decisions. Success means solutions are assessed consistently with clear documentation and evidence, remediation routes are well defined and delivery teams can plan and prioritise effectively. The role is based in Edinburgh with a global remit in a regulated environment where risk, controls and operational continuity matter.

What you'll be doing

  • Perform detailed discovery and assessment of EUC solutions entering the remediation pipeline, capturing purpose, ownership, users, criticality, data and dependencies
  • Use discovery and inventory tooling including XLMON and the registered inventory to validate findings and progress items through the remediation lifecycle
  • Partner with EUC owners and business SMEs to document processes, pain points, controls, requirements and acceptable remediation outcomes
  • Map workflows and dependencies clearly enough to inform remediation, migration, automation or safe retirement decisions
  • Evaluate remediation routes using HSBC capabilities including Transformers, Alteryx, Xceptor and StratPy
  • Translate findings into user stories, acceptance criteria, process documentation and other product artefacts for delivery teams
  • Maintain backlog records including dependencies, decisions, blockers, milestones and evidence of retirement activity
  • Produce management information on pipeline status, ageing, blockers, benefits and adoption of strategic alternatives

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Building sustainable EUC outcomes

This role helps HSBC reduce risk and strengthen operational continuity by moving legacy EUC solutions towards sustainable replacement or safe retirement. You’ll turn hands-on discovery into clear product artefacts that enable prioritisation, delivery planning and dependable execution. The work spans Product, Technology, Operations and business teams across a global footprint so the outcomes will be visible and meaningful. If shaping practical remediation decisions at scale appeals, this is a role where your analysis will translate directly into safer, more strategic ways of working.
