Product & Technical Designer

Location: Yealmpton, South Devon (Primarily office based during the initial training period, with flexibility for hybrid working as the role develops.)

Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time preferred, although we are open to discussing part-time or flexible working arrangements for an exceptional candidate.

Join a Design-Led Business That's Building Something Different

At Life Space Cabins, we believe great architecture should enrich everyday life. We design and build architecturally inspired cabins and bespoke spaces that connect people with nature through thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship and intelligent construction.

From our carefully developed range of cabin products to bespoke architectural commissions and hospitality destinations, every project is driven by a desire to create beautiful, functional spaces that stand the test of time.

As our business continues to evolve, we're looking for someone to become the technical custodian of our products and construction systems.

This is far more than a technical drawing role. It's an opportunity to take ownership of the technical evolution of our products, contribute to bespoke architectural projects and influence how we design, detail and manufacture every building we create. Unlike many technical design roles, you'll have the opportunity to see your ideas progress from concept, through manufacture, to beautifully crafted spaces enjoyed by people across the UK.

If you're naturally curious, enjoy solving technical challenges and want to leave your mark on products that continually evolve, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As our Product & Technical Designer, you'll take ownership of the technical development of the Life Space product range whilst supporting the technical delivery of bespoke architectural projects.

Working at the intersection of architecture, product design and manufacturing, you'll continually refine our cabins to improve quality, performance, sustainability, buildability and manufacturing efficiency.

Working closely with our Directors, workshop and operations team, you'll help ensure every project is intelligently designed, beautifully detailed and practical to manufacture.

You'll become the technical guardian of our products, continually improving how we build and ensuring innovation from bespoke projects feeds back into the wider Life Space range.

This is a rare opportunity to genuinely influence both the future of our products and the direction of a growing design-led business.

Key Responsibilities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
