What you’ll do:
The Product Architect is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the technical architecture of Fire & Intrusion products, ensuring that product solutions align with the overall product strategy, technology roadmap, and business objectives.
Acting as the key technical bridge between Product Management, Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Operations, and external technology partners, the Product Architect ensures that products are scalable, secure, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with customer and market requirements.
The role is accountable for the success of the technical solution throughout the entire product lifecycle for assigned products or product families, from concept development and requirements definition through architecture design, development, certification, commercialization, deployment, and sustaining engineering.
Product Architecture & Strategy
- Define, maintain, and communicate end-to-end product architectures for Fire & Intrusion solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, platforms, architectures, and development approaches to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
- Ensure architectural consistency, reusability, and scalability across product portfolios and future product generations.
- Establish architectural standards, design principles, and best practices to support long-term product evolution.
Product Solution Leadership
- Serve as the primary technical authority for assigned products or product families.
- Translate customer, business, and product requirements into robust technical solutions and system architectures.
- Provide technical leadership and decision-making for complex technical challenges, design trade-offs, and architectural decisions.
- Lead engineering feasibility assessments and architecture reviews to support investment and product development decisions.
- Drive problem-solving activities during product development, verification, certification, commercialization, and post-release support.
- Ensure technical solutions balance performance, quality, reliability, cybersecurity, manufacturability, serviceability, schedule, and cost objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Product Management to translate customer and market requirements into technical specifications and architectural requirements.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, cloud, mobile application, and systems engineering teams to define and deliver complete product solutions.
- Work closely with Program Management to manage technical risks, dependencies, and execution priorities throughout the product lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, Certification, and Technical Support teams to ensure successful product launches and lifecycle support.
- Engage with customers, certification bodies, technology partners, and industry organizations to support product strategy, compliance, and innovation initiatives as required.

Qualifications:
- Engineering Degree - Embedded Firmware or Electronics Preferable but open to others with the relevant experience.
- 10 years experience in a hands-on electronics architecture role is preferable - less will be considered but we require a high level of electronics architecture experience.
