Company Description
At Zayo Europe, we’re driven by a bold vision to power the world through connectivity. We’ve built and operated the critical fibre networks that keep businesses, communities, and economies connected. In 2024, we embarked on an exciting new chapter as a standalone company — a milestone that empowers us to innovate, grow, and lead with greater agility. As we continue to evolve, our mission remains clear: to deliver fast, reliable, and scalable infrastructure that fuels the digital world.
Overview
Zayo Europe is seeking a technically strong and commercially aware Packet Product Architect to help shape, scale and evolve Zayo’s packet product portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Architecture and Operations, ensuring product strategy is translated into scalable, standardised and operationally ready network capabilities.
The Product Architect will provide technical leadership across the packet product lifecycle, from roadmap input and architecture design through to release delivery, operational onboarding, technical standards and support for complex customer solutions. The role requires packet networking expertise, strong commercial awareness and the ability to turn technical capabilities into repeatable, cost-effective and customer-focused product outcomes.
Success in this role requires excellent communication, strong cross-functional influence, a hands-on approach to technical delivery, and a clear focus on standardisation, scalability, cost optimisation and operational readiness.
Responsibilities
Product Architecture, Roadmap & Technology Adoption
- Partner with the Commercial Product Manager to provide technical input into the packet product roadmap, shaping priorities based on network capability, product strategy, customer requirements, cost optimisation and operational scalability.
- Deliver roadmap releases, coordinating technical readiness, architecture alignment, release standards, documentation and operational onboarding.
- Drive adoption of new technologies, features and network capabilities that improve product performance, scalability, cost efficiency and customer outcomes.
- Design network architecture to support product expansion, new capabilities, resilience, performance and cost-effective delivery.
- Own the product cost base, working with Product, Finance, Engineering and Operations to understand cost drivers and identify optimisation opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
