Help make the world more hospitable

The hospitality industry is uniquely human, and it deserves technology that's just as inspiring as the people behind it. At Mews, we're transforming the industry with a platform that helps hotels run smarter, move faster and create better guest experiences.

You'll work with smart, curious people who care deeply about what they do. You'll have autonomy and the trust to make good decisions and move quickly. And you'll enjoy a real sense of purpose as you see the impact of what we're building.

If you're motivated by ownership, curiosity and meaningful impact, and are driven to deliver consistent high performance, you'll feel at home here.

About the role

When a guest pays for their stay, the payment has to just work. Nobody notices a payment that succeeds, and everybody notices one that fails. At Mews, the Fintech Core team builds the payments platform behind hotels around the world, and Acquiring is the heart of it: the part that actually processes card and alternative payments.

As a Product Builder, you own the whole thing. You find the problems worth solving, design the solution, write the production code and check whether it moved the metric.

What you'll be doing

  • Own payment initiatives from the first question to production: discovery, design, code, launch and measurement.
  • Make payments more reliable and faster for hotels and their guests, and prove it with data.
  • Build and run backend services that process real money at scale, with testing, monitoring and safe rollouts built in.
  • Talk to hotels, support teams and partners to understand where payments break and why.
  • Use AI tools and agents as your default way of building, and improve them as you go.
  • Make your own trade-off decisions, and explain them clearly to the people around you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What we're looking for

  • Solid backend engineering experience, shipping and running production services where accuracy really matters.
  • A track record of owning outcomes, not just tasks: you've chosen what to build, shipped it and measured the result.
  • Hands-on use of AI tools like Claude Code or Cursor in your daily work, with examples you're proud of.
  • Experience with payments, fintech or other financial systems is a big plus, but not a must if your foundation is strong.
  • Curiosity about the people using what you build, and the habit of talking to them.
  • Bonus points for startup or 0-to-1 experience, or products you've shipped on your own.

AI Fluency Level 3: In this role, AI is a core part of how you build, not an add-on. You have redesigned how you or your team works with tools like Claude, Cursor or agent frameworks, and you have built approaches that other engineers now follow. You also question what the AI gives you: you check the code and the payment logic it produces and know when it is wrong, which matters most in a domain where correctness comes first.
