Job Description

As a Product Business Developer within Canon's Imaging Technologies & Communications Group, you will lead the strategy, performance and growth of Canon's Inkjet Printer category across the UK & Ireland. You will be responsible for delivering category revenue, profitability and market share objectives through effective product lifecycle management, investment planning, channel development and go to market execution.

Working within a competitive and evolving market, you will combine strong commercial acumen with category expertise to identify growth opportunities, optimise product and channel strategies and strengthen Canon's competitive position. You will play a key role in ensuring the category delivers sustainable and profitable growth while balancing both short term performance and long term strategic objectives.

Collaborating closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, EMEA HQ and key customers, you will lead category planning, forecasting, product launches, performance management and strategic decision making. You will also provide guidance and support to team members, helping build capability within the team while ensuring successful delivery of business objectives.

Responsibilities

As our Product Business Development professional, your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Own and deliver the revenue, profit, and market share objectives for Canon's Inkjet Printer category, ensuring alignment with business goals and growth ambitions
  • Develop and execute the category strategy and product roadmap for the Inkjet Printer portfolio, managing the full product lifecycle from launch planning through to end of life
  • Lead category planning activities, including forecasting, pricing strategy, promotional planning, investment management and performance tracking
  • Analyse market trends, consumer behaviour, customer performance, and competitor activity to identify opportunities, risks and actionable recommendations
  • Work closely with Sales teams and key customers to support ranging decisions, joint business planning and commercial growth opportunities
  • Manage category investment and marketing support budgets to ensure effective deployment of resources and strong return on investment
  • Deliver regular category reviews and performance updates, providing clear recommendations and insights to support decision making
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to support category objectives and long term growth

Qualifications

To be successful in this role as our Product Business Development professional we would like you to possess the following skills and expertise:

  • Proven experience in a Product Manager, Category Manager, Product Marketing, Business Development, or similar commercial role
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance revenue growth, profitability, market share and investment decisions
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market, sales and financial data to drive informed business decisions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering results within a fast paced commercial environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using reporting and business analysis tools (e.g. PowerBI)
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while contributing to wider team objectives

Desirable/Highly Advantageous

  • Experience within the print, imaging, consumer electronics, technology or related sectors
  • Knowledge of retail, distribution, e-commerce or B2B channel environments
  • Familiarity with forecasting, investment planning, pricing and promotional management
  • Understanding of consumer purchasing behaviour and market trends within technology driven categories

The salary for this role is £46,800 - £51,00 depending on experience, plus 10% bonus and benefits inc. pension & PHC
