Hays Engineering are delighted to be supporting a leading UK manufacturer in the search for an experienced Product Compliance Manager to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional with a strong background in product safety, regulatory standards and quality systems to play a key role in ensuring products meet UK, European and international compliance requirements.
Your new role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for managing and developing the organisation's product compliance strategy, ensuring all products meet current legislative, regulatory and customer requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading all product compliance activities across a diverse product portfolio.
- Monitoring changes in UK and international regulations and assessing business impact.
- Managing product testing, certification and approval processes.
- Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Procurement and Manufacturing teams to ensure compliance is embedded throughout the product lifecycle.
- Maintaining technical documentation, declarations of conformity and compliance records.
- Supporting internal and external audits and acting as the key point of contact for regulatory bodies and certification organisations.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives relating to product safety, compliance and risk management.
- Providing guidance and training to internal stakeholders on compliance requirements and best practice.

What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in a Product Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Quality or Technical Compliance role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of UKCA, CE marking and relevant product legislation.
- Experience managing compliance documentation, testing programmes and certification processes.
- Knowledge of ISO quality standards and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business actions.
- Strong project management and organisational capabilities.
