Job Title: Product Content Specialist
Purpose
Wex Photo Video is seeking a Product Content Specialist to join the existing Product Set Up (PSU) Team. Reporting to the Head of Purchasing & PSU and working as part of a commercial department driving online and retail sales by delivering a comprehensive range of products to our customers, the Product Content Specialist will help ensure a best-in-class customer experience on the Wex online shop by maintaining and improving product content across the entire product range.
Primary Objectives
- Produce unique, accurate and compelling product content for our always expanding range.
- Continually improve, correct and optimise existing product content.
- Contribute towards a functional, prioritised workflow to improve the efficiency of the product launch process.
Key Accountabilities
- Write unique descriptions as new products are added to the database by Category Managers.
- Organise and process product images for use on the Wex Photo Video website.
- Adhere to SEO best-practice guidelines provided by the Marketing team.
- Play a key role in the new product launch ecosystem.
- Enhance product information where required, adding features, sample images, videos and related content.
- Research new products using internal and external resources as required.
- Continually work to improve the standard and format of product content, ensuring a high level of grammar, spelling, and accuracy in the copy (and clarity in the images).
- Liaise with the wider commercial and marketing teams to prioritise workload and ensure deadlines are met.
- Make technical information available to staff and help facilitate knowledge transfer and sharing.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent written language skills with high standards of spelling and grammar (essential).
- Self-starter, with initiative to identify priorities and optimise personal workload (essential).
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment, with members based at two sites.
- Ability to learn quickly and transform technical language into plain English.
- Disciplined and organised working practices.
- An enthusiastic and flexible approach.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good proofreading skills.
- Experience of Photoshop and database management would be beneficial.
- Undergraduate degree in English or literature-based studies is desirable, but not essential.
- A basic technical understanding of photographic, video, audio or computing equipment would be beneficial, but not essential.

Key Relationships
- Commercial (Category Managers) to assign priorities, communicate with suppliers to secure assets, and to achieve an efficient product setup workflow.
- Marketing department including design, email, content and social media, especially for new launches.
- IT department for optimising systems and support as needed.
Organisational Chart
The role has no direct reports, and reports into the Head of Purchasing & PSU. There are three Product Content Specialist roles in the company.
Location
The candidate will be based in the Wex Norwich offices for a minimum of three days per week with flexible (hybrid) working options after an initial probation period.
There may be a requirement to visit the Wex London office periodically (and for initial training), but this will be covered under the Wex expenses policy, if required.
