VP Product Controller – Commodities/FX/Rates
Location: London
Contract length: 6 Month FTC
Seniority: Vice President/Associate Director Level
Salary (Pro rata): £90k-£105k
We have partnered with a global financial services company who are looking for a VP-level Product Controller to join their London Team.
The role sits within a well-established finance function and will take ownership of Product Control activity across Commodities/FX/Rates, working closely with trading, risk and wider finance teams. You will provide oversight of daily P&L, valuation controls and financial reporting while ensuring a strong control environment across the trading business.
Responsibilities:
- Own and review daily P&L production, analysis and commentary across commodities/FX/Rates trading activity.
- Investigate and explain P&L movements, working closely with Front Office, Risk and Operations.
- Oversee month-end close processes, including balance sheet substantiation, reconciliations and financial control.
- Review valuation adjustments, reserves and independent price verification processes.
- Ensure trading activity is accurately reflected within financial reporting and management information.
- Maintain and strengthen Product Control processes, controls and governance across the Commodities/FX/Rates business.
- Partner with trading desks on new products, transactions and changes to existing trading activity.
- Identify control weaknesses and drive improvements across reporting, valuation and Product Control processes.
- Support internal and external audit requirements and respond to finance and control-related queries.
- Provide senior-level oversight and guidance on complex Product Control and valuation matters.

Requirements:

- Significant Product Control experience within an investment bank, Commodities/FX/Rates trading business or financial markets environment.
- Strong Commodities/FX/Rates experience is essential.
- Experience operating at VP level or equivalent within Product Control.
- Strong understanding of P&L attribution, valuations, IPV, reserves and financial controls.
- Experience partnering directly with Front Office trading teams and senior stakeholders.
