What to Expect
To lead a Product Data Management function, ensuring accurate, compliant, and optimised product data across the engineering and manufacturing lifecycle. The role is accountable for product data governance, Bill of Materials (EBOM / MBOM) integrity, and Material Master data quality.
The Product Data Manager acts as a strategic partner to Engineering, Manufacturing, Variant Configuration, Program Management, Purchasing, Logistics, Sales, and IT, providing functional leadership, data assurance, and continuous improvement across all product data activities.
What You'll Do
- Lead, manage, and develop the Product Data Management team, ensuring skills, capability, and capacity are aligned to business and program needs.
- Define, own, and enforce product data governance standards covering EBOM, MBOM, Material Master, configuration logic, and data quality best practices.
- Provide functional oversight of all PDM operational activities, including Bill of Materials creation, validation, simulation, release, and material master extension.
- Ensure robust coordination and delivery of Engineering / Manufacturing Record (Releasing) PDM activities in line with program timing and project gateways.
- Act as the senior escalation point and subject matter expert for product data and BoM related issues across Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Programs.
- Represent Product Data Management at programme and governance forums, including change control, launch readiness, and build meetings, presenting BoM accuracy and data readiness.
- Partner with IT and Digital teams to guide best practice use of 3DX/SAP PLM, Material Master, and related systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process simplification, automation, reporting, analytics, and the adoption of Power BI, Power Apps, and AI-enabled tools.

What You'll Bring
Key Results / Objectives
- Delivery of accurate, release‑ready Engineering and Manufacturing BoMs aligned to product, variant, and pack specifications.
- Consistently delivers high‑quality PDM Material Master data across all programmes and blocks.
- Improved BoM accuracy, stability, and readiness at all programme gateways.
- Reduction of late changes, rework, and production risk caused by product data issues.
- Development of a capable, accountable Product Data Management team with clear performance expectations.
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- Proven leadership experience within Product Data Management, PLM, Engineering Operations, or a related discipline.
- Strong functional and technical knowledge of SAP PLM (EBOM, MBOM, MM); familiarity with 3DX is beneficial.
- Solid understanding of engineering release processes, workflow management, and variant configuration principles.
- Experience defining and operating data governance frameworks and system-based rules and logic.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret, challenge, and improve data quality and processes.
