About Imosphere

Imosphere provides digital solutions that help local authorities make clearer, more consistent and defensible decisions in adult social care (ASC) and special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We've worked with local authorities for almost 35 years, and around 1 in 4 local authorities in England use our solutions today.

The opportunity

Local authority leaders increasingly need organisation and population-level insight into cost, demand and quality of provision, not just case-level detail. This is a growing priority across the sector, and we're building on what we already offer to meet it. We're looking for a fractional Product Data Scientist to help shape that work.

What you'd be doing

  • Assessing our data and technical estate to continuously identify the best path toward senior-audience-facing, organisation-level insight
  • Working closely with our Data Product Manager and leadership to turn analysis into product - framed the way a senior local authority stakeholder thinks, not simply as a technical feature
  • Bringing statistical rigour: robust cohort construction, causal/quasi-experimental thinking, and forecasts with honestly stated confidence
  • Identifying where machine learning can strengthen our forecasting e.g. demand forecasting, cohort-level risk modelling, separating genuine need growth from drift

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we're looking for

  • A hands-on data scientist with strong product instincts - you'll do the analysis and help drive what gets built, not scope work for others
  • Strong applied statistical and ML craft, ideally in public sector, social care, education or a comparably regulated context
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on level, designing for a senior audience
  • A natural collaborator who enjoys pairing and building shared capability, not just delivering independently
  • Confident, boundary-aware use of AI tools
  • Able to integrate quickly into a small, close-knit team
