Product Definition Engineer (m/f/d) – UK, Ireland & Northern Europe

Your Exciting Field Of Work

  • You connect technical understanding, partner relationships, and market requirements. Your goal is to position Würth Elektronik components in relevant reference designs and evaluation boards, support technical partners with strong application expertise, and contribute valuable market input to product development.
  • Build relationships: Visit semiconductor partners regularly across the UK and Ireland and travel to Belgium, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia a few times per year.
  • Place products: Drive the integration of WE components into public reference designs and evaluation boards of leading semiconductor companies such as Analog Devices, onsemi, Renesas, Nexperia, Microchip Technology, Power Integrations, and NXP.
  • Share expertise: Deliver technical training on WE products and support the creation of technical materials such as AppNotes, webinars, demos, and online content.
  • Identify potential: Gather product gap intelligence from partner interactions, assess market viability, and feed findings into our product development process.
  • Understand technology: Carry out quarterly benchmarking of power supply boards using WE inductors and prepare structured reports. Depending on your profile, this may also include EMC, stability, or layout optimisation topics.
  • Work internationally: Collaborate closely with colleagues in Germany and France as well as with global counterparts in the USA and Asia.

Your Convincing Skills

  • Basics: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Knowledge: Background in or strong interest in power electronics and/or magnetics.
  • Passion: Enjoy working in an international technical environment and turning application knowledge into concrete design-in success.
  • Willingness to travel: Comfortable owning a large territory and travelling regularly within the region.
  • Communication: Strong communicator and confident presenter in front of technical audiences. Very good English skills are required.
  • Strengths: Autonomous, well-organized, structured, and confident in building strong technical partnerships.
