R&D Partners is seeking a Product Definition Lead to join a dynamic and collaborative department focused on instrument assay and disposable development within the pharmaceutical industry. This role offers an exciting opportunity to steer the technical direction of point-of-care platforms, translating complex business and clinical healthcare needs into precise system requirements.

Located in Motherwell, Scotland, this position provides a vibrant workplace culture with a strong technical and scientific focus, where your leadership will directly contribute to delivering life-changing medical solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of specialized Systems and Requirements Engineers, Domain Business Analysts, and supporting functions to foster a high-performing, collaborative culture.
  • Oversee and lead product definition for technically complex point-of-care systems, ensuring alignment with global healthcare and business objectives.
  • Drive requirements engineering, elicitation, and thorough evaluations to ensure completeness of system requirements.
  • Support the engineering team with technical issue identification, rapid resolution, and successful closure.
  • Organize and facilitate project workshops to align interdisciplinary global teams and accelerate product definition workflows.
  • Apply advanced problem-solving methodologies to resolve critical technical issues within global projects.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in requirements engineering, systems engineering, or product definition, preferably within medical devices, diagnostics, or heavily regulated industries.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with a passion for solving problems individually and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.
  • High degree of flexibility, proactiveness, and strategic vision to steer point-of-care platforms in line with global business goals.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and quick-thinking skills, with a track record of translating business and clinical needs into precise requirements.
