Location: Reading (x2 days per week)
UK Based | Aerospace / Defence | Senior Delivery Role
We are looking for an experienced Digital Engineering Delivery Manager to take ownership of the delivery and ongoing development of sophisticated digital engineering capabilities within a major engineering environment.
This is a senior role sitting at the intersection of engineering, digital technology, and product delivery, with responsibility for ensuring engineering teams have the tools, environments, processes, and integrated capabilities required to support complex mechanical and fluid-system design.
You will work closely with engineering teams, technical specialists, suppliers, and senior stakeholders to translate engineering requirements into clear capability roadmaps, prioritised backlogs, and deliverable solutions.
What you'll be doing
- Leading the delivery and continuous improvement of digital engineering capabilities supporting complex mechanical and fluid systems
- Developing product roadmaps, delivery plans, and prioritised backlogs based on engineering and business requirements
- Supporting engineering toolchains covering system simulation, CAD, CFD, thermal analysis, configuration management, and test data
- Ensuring effective integration and traceability between requirements, engineering models, analysis, and test evidence
- Working with engineering teams to improve model-based and simulation-driven engineering practices
- Coordinating delivery across internal technical teams, external suppliers, and technology partners
- Managing technical risks, dependencies, performance, capacity, and service improvement
- Supporting the selection, implementation, and optimisation of engineering technologies and platforms
- Establishing appropriate governance, data standards, access controls, and configuration practices
- Driving adoption of new engineering tools, processes, and ways of working across multidisciplinary teams
- Managing supplier relationships, technology evaluations, and technical delivery
- Balancing immediate delivery requirements with longer-term architecture, scalability, and maintainability

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
