What You Need To Know:
- 💰 Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum
- 🏢 Location: Chester HQ, Hybrid working
- 👤 Report To: Head of Product Design
- 👥 Team: Product Design
- ⏱️ Working Pattern: 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, 9am until 5:30pm
The Opportunity:
As a Product Designer, you'll play a key role in shaping what we build, why we build it and how it creates value for both our guests and the business. Working across discovery and delivery, you'll partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Data teams and commercial stakeholders to uncover opportunities, solve customer problems and create exceptional experiences.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-moving environment where experimentation, learning and continuous improvement are encouraged. You'll contribute to products that reach millions of customers while seeing the impact of your work quickly and directly.
AI is already embedded in how we work. You'll collaborate with AI-powered tools and agentic workflows throughout the design process, using them to support research, surface insights, challenge assumptions and accelerate delivery. Success in this role isn't just about using AI to work faster; it's about applying human judgement to make better decisions for our guests, our brands and our business.
Alongside your product work, you'll be an active member of our Product Design team, contributing to design critiques, evolving our design system and helping to raise design standards across Forge.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Partner with Product Managers and stakeholders to identify and define the right problems to solve.
- Plan and lead discovery activities including guest interviews, usability testing, journey mapping, concept testing and rapid experimentation.
- Turn qualitative and quantitative insights into clear opportunities, hypotheses and design recommendations.
- Design end-to-end experiences across web, mobile and service touchpoints.
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs that balance guest needs, business goals and technical feasibility.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering teams to ensure designs are accessible, practical and implemented to a high standard.
- Contribute to the development and evolution of our design system, creating scalable and consistent experiences across products.
- Champion inclusive and accessible design, ensuring experiences meet WCAG standards.
- Confidently communicate design decisions, trade-offs and rationale to stakeholders.
- Participate in design critiques, share knowledge and help elevate design quality across the wider team.
- Direct, evaluate and build upon AI-generated insights and outputs throughout the design process, applying human judgement where it matters most.

What You’ll Bring:
- Proven experience as a Product Designer, supported by a strong portfolio showcasing real, shipped digital products.
- Demonstrable experience owning work from discovery through to delivery.
- Strong problem-framing skills with a focus on measurable customer and business outcomes.
- Experience collaborating within cross-functional teams across Product, Engineering, Data and Commercial functions.
- Excellent UX, interaction design and visual design skills.
- Confidence working in environments with ambiguity, complexity and evolving priorities.
- A curious, analytical and insight-driven mindset with a build, test and learn approach.
- Experience working alongside AI tools and agentic workflows as part of your design process.
- The ability to critically evaluate AI-generated insights and recommendations, knowing when to challenge, refine or disregard them.
- A pragmatic, outcome-focused approach with a passion for delivering value rather than pursuing perfection.
- The confidence to challenge assumptions constructively and influence decision-making through design.
It would be great if you also have:

- Experience within ecommerce, marketplaces, travel, hospitality or other complex B2C environments.
- Knowledge of experimentation, conversion rate optimisation (CRO) or performance-led design.
- Experience contributing to and working within established design systems.
- Exposure to AI-driven products, agentic workflows or AI-enhanced customer experiences.
- Experience designing customer journeys across multiple digital touchpoints.
