Product Designer – Contract
Location: Remote, GMT working hours
Contract: Initial 3-month rolling contract, with scope for extension
Start: ASAP
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Product Designer to take ownership of the quality, consistency and usability of a SaaS platform.
A key focus will be developing the design system, setting clear UX/UI standards and working closely with Product and Engineering to ensure new features are intuitive, consistent and well designed.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working closely with engineers and taking ideas from early concepts through to implementation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build and maintain the design system, including reusable components, patterns and design guidelines.
- Set UX/UI standards across tables, filters, forms, navigation, modals and other core product areas.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering from early ideas through to implementation.
- Review new features and prototypes to ensure a consistent, high-quality user experience.
- Regularly review the existing product, identify UX issues and prioritise improvements.
- Research comparable products and identify ways to make the experience more intuitive and distinctive.

What We’re Looking For
- Strong Product Design experience within SaaS or complex digital products.
- Experience building or significantly improving a design system.
- Strong UX/UI skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Experience designing complex interfaces, including dashboards, tables, filters and workflows.
- Comfortable working closely with engineers rather than simply handing over Figma designs.
- Some experience with React/front-end development is highly desirable.
- Experience using Claude or similar AI tools is a bonus.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating both visual design and UX/product thinking.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership.

First 30–60 Days
You’ll initially review the existing product, identify the biggest UX/UI and consistency issues and create a prioritised roadmap.
From there, you’ll establish the first version of the design system and core UX guidelines, before taking 1–2 existing areas of the product and demonstrating how they could be significantly improved.
