About the Role

Our Product Design team helps make complex workflows simple and intuitive for the people using Gearset every day. Product designers work closely with customers, product managers and engineers to understand problems, test ideas and learn from what we ship.

You’ll join a team of product designers working across the Gearset platform, so you won’t be designing on your own. You’ll have people to pair with, share work and ideas with, and learn from, while still having ownership of the problems you’re working on.

You’ll work on technically interesting problems at the heart of the Gearset platform, including pipelines that connect different parts of our customers’ workflows. You don’t need to arrive knowing Salesforce or DevOps inside out. Curiosity and an interest in learning technical concepts matter more. You’ll have the space and support to build that knowledge as you go.

What’s the opportunity for a Product Designer at Gearset?

  • Take ownership of meaningful customer problems from discovery through to delivery, with the freedom to explore what’s worth solving, shape the approach, and learn from what happens once it’s live.
  • Support our Automation and Governance product group, working on customer problems around activation, time to value and complex workflows.
  • Get close to our customers and their day-to-day challenges, with the freedom to speak to real users whenever you need to and use research and product data to understand where design can make the biggest difference.
  • Work alongside product managers and engineers from the first conversation about a problem, bringing different perspectives together to explore, shape and develop the right solution as a team.
  • Design for people with different levels of technical knowledge, making complex workflows simpler for Salesforce admins, release managers and developers.
  • Build your technical knowledge as you go, with opportunities to work beyond Figma on coded prototypes, design system components and smaller product changes.
  • Explore how AI can support your design process and become part of the experiences we create for customers.
  • Have the autonomy to spot opportunities, investigate them and help shape what the team focuses on next.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you’ll achieve

  • Build a strong understanding of our customers through discovery and usability research, helping uncover the problems that are most valuable to solve.
  • Turn customer insights and product data into ideas, then work with product managers and engineers to explore and test the right approach.
  • Bring ideas to life through prototypes and research, learning directly from the people who’ll use what you design.
  • Work closely with engineers as designs become part of the Gearset platform, staying involved throughout rather than handing work over.
  • Hold a high bar for the experience we ship, judging work by whether it's useful, coherent and well made.
  • Share accountability for what happens after we ship, using customer feedback and product data to understand whether the work is being used and having the intended impact, then keep improving the experience.
  • Have the freedom to spot opportunities yourself, explore them and build the evidence for where we should focus next.
  • Contribute to the wider Product Design team by sharing work, exchanging feedback and supporting other designers through pairing and reviews.

About you

  • You have experience designing and shipping digital products, with a portfolio that shows the problem you were solving, your approach and the outcome, not just the finished UI.
  • You’ve worked closely with product managers and engineers throughout the design process, bringing different perspectives together to find a way forward.
  • You have experience speaking directly with users, running research and using product analytics to understand customer problems and inform your decisions.
  • You can make complex workflows simple and intuitive, and you’re interested in learning the technical concepts behind the products you design.
  • You can manage multiple projects at different stages, use AI as part of your day-to-day workflow and use what you learn after something ships to inform what comes next.
