Product Designer
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Designer based in United Kingdom.
This is a full-time remote opportunity for a product designer who wants to shape products from early problem definition through launch and iteration. You’ll work closely with product and engineering teams across web, mobile, widgets, and user-facing portals. The role combines product thinking, UX, visual design, prototyping, and design systems in a highly hands-on environment. You’ll contribute to products used by real customers every day, where thoughtful improvements can have a meaningful operational impact. The team values designers who are comfortable working independently, communicating asynchronously, and staying close to implementation. You’ll also have the opportunity to incorporate modern AI tools into your design workflow and explore faster paths from concept to working prototype.
Accountabilities
- Own product design initiatives end to end, from defining problems and exploring solutions through validation, delivery, launch, and post-launch iteration.
- Partner closely with product leaders, engineers, and designers to establish product direction and translate user needs into effective experiences.
- Design across multiple surfaces, including desktop web applications, native iOS and Android experiences, embeddable widgets, and user portals.
- Create and maintain high-quality Figma libraries, components, Auto Layout structures, variables, and design-system patterns.
- Develop interactive prototypes and move beyond static mockups when a more realistic, testable artifact can accelerate learning and decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with engineering throughout implementation, reviewing builds, identifying design drift, and balancing pixel fidelity with practical delivery needs.
- Conduct user research and usability testing, incorporating customer feedback into product decisions and design improvements.
- Communicate design thinking and decisions effectively through written specifications, feature presentations, recorded walkthroughs, Figma comments, and other asynchronous formats.
- Manage priorities independently across multiple product areas while staying aligned with product leadership and evolving business needs.
- Continuously refine mature product experiences while introducing new features without unnecessarily disrupting established user workflows.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

- Experience designing for data-dense desktop web applications as well as native mobile experiences.
- Working knowledge of responsive design, accessibility, and established UX patterns for complex applications.
- Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and translating feedback into actionable product direction.
- Strong visual-design fundamentals, including typography, color, grids, layout, hierarchy, iconography, and illustration.
