We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team in the role of Product Development Analysts.

Role Overview

HSBC Asset Management Product Group is responsible for defining Product direction and evolution to enable business development across all key asset classes. This includes ideation, design, profitability, structuring, development, strategy & management of existing and future Product across all global markets.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting into the Head of Product for one of HSBC Asset Management's asset classes, the role is to support on the design and structuring of new, Global and UK product development projects for HSBC Asset Management.
  • The role holder will work with a large range of global stakeholders across Investments, Sales, Operations, Finance, Legal and Compliance.
  • The individual will assist senior product developers and structurers, preparing analysis on new projects, documentation and governance materials and will help co-ordinate stakeholders through the product development lifecycle prior to supporting our implementation team deliver on key initiatives.
  • Additionally, the role holder will support the relationship with some of HSBC Asset Management’s key investment functions, managing the ongoing and future pipeline of initiatives and strategic development of new funds or maintaining the existing range of funds.

Key Tasks

  • Partner with Heads of Product for different asset classes and Investment teams to manage relationships, maintain the initiatives pipeline, and progress product evolution.
  • Support the design and re-design of product requirements, ensuring alignment with HSBC Group standards, regulation (local/cross-border), client and sales needs, investment capability, and sustainability expectations.
  • Contribute to the development of products, sub-funds, mandates, propositions and solutions across public markets (active fixed income, equities, multi-asset, liquidity, and passive).
  • Coordinate internal change delivery with key stakeholders, maintaining clear communication throughout.
  • Work with external counsel and fund service providers to implement changes efficiently and in a timely manner, delivering strong customer outcomes.
  • Maintain and update fund documentation across product sets, ensuring readiness for governance and audit requirements.
  • Lead governance activity for fund changes, including approvals, drafting papers, and presenting initiatives for decision.
  • Model and challenge financials, prepare materials for senior stakeholder review, and support product reviews/sign-offs and broader strategic projects.

Requirements

  • Exposure to investment management is advantageous with some knowledge of investment strategies/techniques, key asset classes, and asset management products.
  • Experience within a product-related role or an interest in how products are structured, governed, and maintained.
  • Helpful working knowledge of fund regulation, including UCITS, AIFMD II (AIFMD2), SFDR, and MiFID is beneficial
  • A curious, proactive mindset, with strong attention to detail.
  • Collaborative and adaptable, able to work smoothly across different teams and priorities.
  • Confidence in engaging and managing stakeholders at all levels, with experience delivering against obligations and deadlines.
  • Project coordination experience, ideally across complex, cross-functional activity with multiple dependencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including drafting clear wording and presenting business cases to decision-makers.
  • Analytical skills with a finance/business/economics base, able to think through downstream impacts across documentation and operating model.
  • Good MS Office capability, especially for producing clear, well-structured materials.
