Role Overview

As a Product Development Manager in the field of contract logistics, you will be essential in driving business growth through the development and deployment of an end-to-end portfolio of commerce services. This role involves increasing Gross Profit (GP) by introducing new customers to and expanding our offerings to existing customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evangelist: Within the Business Development (BD) and Account Management community, serve as an evangelist for E-commerce solutions and services. Drive adoption and growth, providing Subject Matter Expertise to support awareness and sales to new and existing customers.
  • Coordination: Leverage, integrate, and coordinate the full range of solutions to meet the needs of our UK-based E-commerce customers.
  • Product Sales: Lead significant/complex/strategic product sales and develop product sales support (pre-sales, collateral, cost models, solution templates, case studies, competitive positioning). Drive the efficiency and effectiveness of business development efforts, including commercial and operational templating.
  • Channel Development: Lead product channel development, including BD teams, account management, operations, and external partners. Act as a coach to ensure the transfer of skills from Retail into cross-regional teams to accelerate the adoption of E-commerce best practices in all sectors.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Be accountable for product customer satisfaction, as measured through POR, NPS, and net growth.
  • Product Growth: Deliver product growth targets and sustained growth through product pipeline development and management.
  • Product Management: Drive the Product Management process (including specification, roadmap, and continuous improvement), delivering improvements to products, sustaining competitive advantage, and enhancing market share.
  • Development and Innovation: Lead product development, innovation, and future investment planning (reporting to the Product Board).

  • Significant experience (5 years) with blue-chip organizations in logistics environments in the field of relevant products.
  • Understanding: Understanding, refining, and following product management processes.
  • Collateral Development: Product Collateral development.
  • Sales Channel Management: Managing a sales channel.
  • Product Costing: Product Costing.
  • Customer Feedback: Customer feedback and product roadmap development.
  • Value Proposition: Value proposition development.
  • Customer Experience: Customer experience journey design.
