Role Overview
As a Product Development Manager in contract logistics, your responsibilities are crucial for driving business growth. Your primary task involves the development and deployment of an end-to-end portfolio of commerce services, with a focus on increasing Gross Profit (GP) by introducing new customers to our offerings and expanding to existing customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Business Growth: Develop and deploy an end-to-end portfolio of commerce services, aiming to increase GP by attracting new customers and expanding offerings to existing ones.
- Evangelism and Expertise: Act as an evangelist within the Business Development (BD) and Account Management community for E-commerce solutions and services. Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to support awareness and sales to both new and existing customers. Leverage, integrate, and coordinate the full range of solutions to meet the needs of UK-based E-commerce customers.
- Product Sales Support: Lead significant, complex, and strategic product sales. Develop product sales support, including pre-sales, collateral, cost models, solution templates, case studies, and competitive positioning. Drive efficiency and effectiveness of business development efforts, including commercial and operational templating.
- Channel Development: Lead product channel development, involving BD teams, account management, operations, and external partners. Act as a coach to ensure the transfer of skills from retail into cross-regional teams, accelerating the adoption of E-commerce best practices across all sectors.
- Customer Satisfaction: Be accountable for product customer satisfaction, as measured through Product Operations Reports (POR), Net Promoter Score (NPS), and net growth.
- Product Growth: Deliver product growth targets and sustain growth through product pipeline development and management.
- Product Management Process: Drive the Product Management process, including specification, roadmap, and continuous improvement. Deliver improvements to products, sustain competitive advantage, and enhance market share.
- Innovation and Future Planning: Lead product development, innovation, and future investment planning, reporting to the Product Board.

Requirements
- Significant experience (5 years) with blue-chip organizations in logistics environments in the relevant product field.
- Understanding, refining, and following product management processes.
- Product Collateral development.
- Managing a sales channel.
- Product Costing.
- Customer feedback and product roadmap development.
- Value proposition development.
- Customer experience journey design.
