Job Title: Product Development Specialist

Location: Aston, PA

Job Type: Hybrid (Mon, Tues & Thurs are in office days)

Reporting to: VP, Product Development

Job Summary:

We seek a detail-oriented and creative Product Development Specialist to support our retail bedding business and be the driving force to bring new products to the market. In this hands-on role, you will be deeply involved in every stage of the product development process, from early concept to production. Responsibilities include contributing to the product design, supporting the various stages of development, and owning the product build. A successful candidate must work cross-functionally with sales, product managers, marketing, R&D, operations, and finance to ensure new products meet customer expectations and are delivered on time.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
  • Support new product development based on design inputs, consumer insights, and market trends.
  • Ensure final products meet customer expectations, quality requirements, and cost targets.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and sourcing teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability.
  • Work closely with the cross-functional team to ensure the final product delivers on design intent.
  • Support sales and marketing teams with customer samples and product information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 2-5 years of product development experience in household durables and consumer package goods.
  • Customer-centric, with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Strong analytical skillset.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.

Desirable skills and traits:

  • Strong prioritization and time management skills, extremely organized, detail-oriented, and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability and experience managing projects with both internal and external resources.
  • Experience or familiarity with operations and sales functions and activities.
  • Passion for product design and collaboration.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all organizational functions and levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
  • Experience understanding manufacturing processes is a plus.
