Product Director
Location: Wolverhampton (Hybrid – typically 3 days per week on site)
Employment type: Permanent
Salary: £100,000 – £110,000 + car allowance + executive incentive framework
About the opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to step into a board‑level leadership role with genuine influence over the future direction of a global, purpose‑led safety technology business.
As Product Director, you will own the global product strategy for Fortress Safety—shaping what we build, how we compete and how we scale, while balancing near‑term execution with long‑term value creation.
What you’ll be doing
- Set and lead a multi‑year global product vision aligned to Fortress Safety’s growth strategy
- Act as a member of the Fortress Board, shaping overall business direction and strategic priorities
- Hold ultimate accountability for the current and future product portfolio
- Lead and develop global teams across Product Management, R&D and Safety Services
- Provide strategic leadership and governance for Research & Development, ensuring R&D activity is aligned to the product roadmap, customer needs, and long‑term growth objectives, from early concept through to production
- Partner closely with Innovation, Operations, Sales and the wider Halma network
- Translate deep customer insight, market trends and regulatory requirements into differentiated solutions
- Balance short‑term delivery with long‑term platform and capability development
- Champion safety, quality and continuous improvement across the organisation
- Influence and collaborate across regions, cultures and functions to drive sustainable growth

What you’ll bring
- Proven experience leading complex, engineered or technical product portfolios in regulated environments
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to connect strategy to execution
- A track record of delivering growth in fast‑evolving, international organisations
- Credibility working at senior or board level, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively
- Ability to communicate complex technical and regulatory topics clearly and persuasively
- A global mindset, with experience operating across multiple geographies
- Low‑ego, high‑impact leadership style with a bias for action
- Degree‑level qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Willingness to travel internationally as required
