Redcentric | Product Engineer / Senior Product Engineer - Microsoft
Location: Home-based (UK only)
Role Overview
Redcentric is seeking an experienced Microsoft Engineer to join our Product Architecture and Engineering function. The successful candidate will be appointed as either a Microsoft Engineer or Senior Microsoft Engineer depending on their experience, technical capability, and demonstrated expertise.
This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for designing, building, configuring, automating, testing, supporting, and continually improving Microsoft-based product capabilities across Azure, Microsoft 365, Identity, Security, Endpoint Management, Windows Server, SQL Server, and related platform services.
Critically, this role is about turning technical capability into repeatable, supportable, and commercially viable managed service and professional services products. It is product engineering, not pure platform delivery. The successful candidate will design and document service offerings as well as build them, and will be comfortable moving between the technical detail and the commercial shape of a service.
Working within an Agile and DevSecOps delivery model, the role contributes to the development of secure, scalable, supportable, and commercially viable managed service offerings. The successful candidate will work closely with Product Technical Leads, Architects, Operations teams, Service Delivery teams, and other engineers to deliver reliable and repeatable product capabilities that align with Redcentric's managed services strategy. Senior candidates will additionally lead complex product and technical workstreams end to end, shape offerings, and drive decisions with stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Product and Service Design
- Translate technical capability into defined, repeatable managed service and professional services products.
- Contribute to service definitions, scope matrices, RACI, service levels and add-ons, and professional services catalogue items.
- Frame commercial and contractual language against the MSA rather than redefining it independently.
- Understand the distinction between recurring revenue (RMR) managed services and one-time charge (OTC) professional services, and design accordingly.
Engineering Delivery
- Design, build, configure and enhance Microsoft product capabilities.
- Deliver engineering activities across Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, security, endpoint management, automation, and related platform services.
- Translate product and architectural requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Participate in implementation, testing, deployment, migration, and release activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting product functionality, deployment, and service operation.
- Support new services, enhancements, technical debt remediation, and continual improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
