Referment is working with one of the more exciting early-stage AI companies in London to add another exceptional engineer to a small, highly ambitious founding team.
They’re tackling a genuinely difficult problem: building AI agents that can see, understand and interact with mobile applications like humans do, using multimodal models, computer vision and real physical devices.
They’ve already raised $4m+ from leading VCs and operators behind some of the biggest names in AI, and despite being early, their technology is already relied on daily by some seriously impressive technology companies.

Role
This isn’t a role where you’ll own one small part of a mature stack. You’ll be building things that haven’t really been built before, with ownership across:
- Architecting AI agents using multimodal models
- Building ML evals, benchmarks and datasets
- Taking ML from experimentation into real production systems
- Backend, frontend and cloud infrastructure
- Automating and scaling a physical device farm
- Working directly with customers to shape what gets built next

They’re looking for builders rather than passengers. People who enjoy getting around a whiteboard, solving problems from first principles and shipping quickly when there isn't an obvious playbook.
If you want to join a 100-person engineering organisation, this probably isn't it.
