Product Engineer
Connect Appointments is recruiting a Product Engineer to join an established manufacturer in Dundee.
This is a role with genuine influence, you'll take customer requirements and turn them into manufacturable, cost-effective solutions, working directly with customers on technical proposals and closely with production to make sure every design stacks up both technically and commercially.

- Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
- 40,000 to 50,000 per annum - depending on experience

As a Product Engineer, Your Duties Will Include
- Designing wire and cable products to meet customer specs and industry standards
- Producing construction drawings, material specs and manufacturing instructions
- Costing designs across materials, labour and production to keep pricing competitive
- Preparing technical proposals and quotes directly for customers
- Working with production to make sure designs can actually be built
- Running feasibility studies and suggesting changes to improve performance or cut cost

To be considered as a Product Engineer, you will need:
- A degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Materials Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Proven cable design experience in manufacturing - conductors, insulation, shielding and jacketing
- Strong costing and estimating skills
- CAD experience (TurboCAD preferred), plus Excel and Visio
- Working knowledge of standards such as UL, CSA and IEC
- The ability to explain technical detail clearly to non-technical people
