Senior Product Engineer (hybrid/remote, you must be UK Based)
We're looking for a Senior Product Engineer to join a small, high-trust engineering team building a next-generation platform while supporting an existing live product for enterprise clients.
The role
You'll own features end-to-end — from ambiguous problem to shipped solution — working directly with product, research and occasionally clients rather than building to fully specified tickets. Expect real ownership: shaping architecture, resolving ambiguous requirements, and being a source of judgement for the wider team. You'll also scope work clearly enough to hand to contractors when extra capacity is needed.
Tech stack
- Backend: PHP/Laravel, microservices architecture, BFF (Backend for Frontend) pattern
- Frontend: React, SPAs
- Cloud: AWS (Lambda, Glue, S3, Bedrock, CloudFront)
- Data: Power BI, AWS data lake, HubSpot (CRM)
- Tooling: Jira, Confluence, GitHub

What we're looking for
- Genuinely strong engineering ability across the stack — AI tools should accelerate a good engineer, not substitute for one
- Fluency with AI coding tools and an appetite to use them to ship faster, well-considered work
- Sound judgement on abstractions and system design, able to spot when AI-generated code is (or isn't) actually right
- A track record of owning larger, less-defined problems at whatever level that's occurred
- Comfortable with genuine ambiguity, curious about the product and users, not just the code
- Regtech/fintech experience preferred
- Strong communicator, self-managing, proactive — brings ideas rather than waiting for direction

Practicalities
- UK-based, must be employable via PAYE
- Remote-friendly (current team is remote), though first day must be in person and some office attendance is encouraged, especially during probation
- No people management responsibilities
- Small team, minimal process, direct access to the people setting product direction
- Process: video interview → technical/skills assessment → final video interview
