Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack) – Forensic Origin Verification Platform

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Full-Stack Engineering & Ownership

  • Develop backend services and APIs using Python (Django/FastAPI) for APIs & data processing
  • Build modern, responsive frontend applications with React & TypeScript, ensuring a seamless user experience
  • Own features from design to deployment, ensuring they deliver clear business value
  • Contribute to innovation projects—whether new supply chain verification tools or compliance platforms

System Reliability & Scalability

  • Optimise system performance by:
    • Identifying bottlenecks
    • Improving queries & service efficiency
    • Scaling infrastructure to support growing data demands
  • Monitor production systems, diagnose issues, and drive root-cause analysis

Cloud & DevOps Integration

  • Work in cloud-based environments (Azure/AWS/GCP), including:
    • Deployments
    • CI/CD pipelines
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Automate testing, build pipelines, and enforce continuous improvement cultural norms

AI & Modern Tooling

  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to:
    • Improve code quality
    • Streamline workflows
    • Enhance learning & support team processes

Requirements & Skills

Must-Have Skills & Experience

🔹 Strong backend/webicide experience:

  • Python (Django/FastAPI) for API development
  • Proficiency in API design (RESTful/GraphQL)
  • SQL/JavaScript fundamentals (for cross-stack alignment)

🔹 Frontend & modern JavaScript:

  • React/TypeScript for building responsive interfaces
  • Ability to create stateful, performant UI components

🔹 Production Systems & DevOps:

  • Hands-on experience with AWS/Azure/GCP in a production environment
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, testing, and version control (Git)

  • Strong debugging abilities
  • Pragmatic approach to scaling systems
  • Collaborative soft skills for global distributed teams

Preferred Experience

✔ Experience with AI development tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude) ✔ Work in regulated industries (e.g., supply chain, security, or compliance) ✔ Familiarity with Python testing frameworks (e.g., Pytest, Django-tests)
