Myora is an AI-powered preventive health platform tackling common chronic diseases (diabetes, hypertension, heart disease) in the populations existing healthtech ignores: Africa, the Gulf, South Asia and their diaspora communities. We use behavioural science, culturally specific coaching and outcomes-linked rewards to help people change their habits before disease sets in. Think Noom meets Vitality, built for people who actually have jollof rice and biriyani for dinner. Delivered on WhatsApp and mobile, and paid for by insurers, employers and families abroad.
Our Lagos pilot is live and screening has already shown half carry elevated risk for blood pressure or diabetes and members are reporting eating, drinking and sleeping better. Soon we’ll launch our diaspora programme for UK-based families supporting parents in Lagos, and clinic partnerships.
We’re backed by lead angel Dame Vivian Hunt (ex-Optum/UnitedHealth, McKinsey), with advisors including Cait O’Riordan (ex-Google VP Product, FT CPTO) and Olusegun Aganga (former Nigerian Finance Minister). Our founder, Tara Lajumoke, was Global Chief Transformation Officer at Bupa and an Associate Partner in McKinsey’s healthcare practice.
Role
As one of our first engineers, you’ll work closely with product, clinical and operational teams to turn real customer needs into simple, effective technology. This is a hands-on role with broad ownership: from speaking to users and shaping ideas through to building, launching and improving the product.
Myora’s current product spans a Flutter mobile app, React/Next.js admin tools, a NestJS/PostgreSQL backend, WhatsApp integrations and AI-enabled health-coaching experiences.
- Own problems end to end: understand the user's needs, explore solutions, build the experience, launch it and measure whether it worked.
- Speak directly with members, healthcare partners and internal teams through interviews, usability testing and support conversations.
- Build prototypes quickly to test assumptions before investing in full production solutions.
- Work across mobile, web, backend and operational workflows as needed, optimising for customer outcomes rather than technical boundaries.
- Improve and extend the mobile app, AI image analysis and meal planning, admin platform, backend services, WhatsApp journeys and internal tools.
- Make pragmatic architectural decisions that balance speed today with maintainability as Myora grows.
- Establish strong engineering foundations, including automated testing, observability, documentation, deployment and incident response.
- Apply appropriate security, privacy and data-protection practices for a regulated health environment.
- Build the instrumentation needed to understand onboarding, engagement, programme completion and health outcomes.
- Create lightweight tools, including Slack bots, reporting workflows and operational dashboards, that help the team learn and act faster.
- Use production issues and operational friction as inputs into product and platform improvements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Comfortable working independently in a small team without a fully defined roadmap, dedicated PM or mature engineering processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication, including explaining technical trade-offs to non-technical colleagues.

Our values
- Member obsession: we’re curious about our members through feedback, conversations and usage data, and keep finding new ways to improve their health.
- One team: team over self. We step in when someone’s stretched, even outside our role, and raise problems early while there’s still time to fix them.
- Ownership: we lead with clear accountability, commit to outcomes not activity, and say early when something won’t land.
- Boldness & action: audacious goals, sharp thinking. Smallest solution, biggest impact; an idea becomes a test within the week.
- Continuous growth: beginner’s mindset, ask why before we judge, and see feedback as a gift.
