The Role
Imagine building simulated populations of 300 to 5,000+ AI personas, grounded in real social behaviour data. This is a company that lets organisations test messages, strategies, or products before they ever meet the real world. They help clients understand how real audiences will think, feel, and respond — in hours, not months, and including audiences conventional research can't reach. Backed by significant seed funding from leading investors and angels from top AI labs and venture funds, they're a lean, high-calibre team solving genuinely hard problems.
This is the first dedicated Product Engineer hire. You'll own features end-to-end: from front-end interaction through the API to the database. You'll work directly with the designer and CTO, translating cutting-edge simulation capabilities into client-facing product. This isn't a role about inheriting existing systems; it's about setting the schema, API contracts, and craft bar from scratch. You'll close the gap between a powerful simulation engine and a product layer that needs to match its sophistication. Clients make high-stakes decisions on this platform. Latency, empty states, and reliability are all your problem.

The Work
- Own the full product lifecycle for new features, from initial scope and design through to shipping and iteration.
- Translate advanced simulation capabilities, built by research and forward-deployed engineers, into intuitive, reliable client-facing product.
- Define the core architecture: set schema decisions, API contracts, and the overall craft bar for a product used for high-stakes decisions.
- Tackle critical performance and reliability challenges across the stack, ensuring a seamless experience for clients relying on the platform.
- Build the product layer that interfaces with large-scale simulated populations of 300 to 5,000+ AI personas.
What You Bring
- 2+ years shipping full-stack product end-to-end to real users, not just contributing to features.
- Proficiency in TypeScript across the stack. Python productivity is a strong plus.
- Strong database design skills, including clean data modeling and efficient query writing (Postgres preferred).
- Fluency with AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) and a high bar for shipped code quality.
- Proven product taste: you sweat the details that elevate a functional feature to one people love using.
- Experience designing and consuming APIs, with a clear understanding of building robust system contracts.
