We are seeking an experienced Associate Consultant to support the design and delivery of critical Product Governance, Consumer Duty and Distribution Oversight initiatives for a leading UK insurance client. This is a hands-on role requiring strong regulatory knowledge, stakeholder management and the ability to turn regulatory requirements into practical governance frameworks and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of Product Governance, Distribution Oversight and Consumer Duty frameworks aligned with FCA and internal requirements.
  • Develop Distributor Risk Assessment, Distributor Audit and Distribution Oversight frameworks, procedures, templates and supporting documentation.
  • Design Fair Value Assessment, Product Change and Product Governance processes, including approval routes, RACI, decision authorities and escalation pathways.
  • Develop Customer Communication, Customer Journey Testing and Customer Outcome Monitoring frameworks and supporting templates.
  • Assess current-state governance arrangements, identify gaps and translate regulatory expectations into practical and effective business processes.
  • Facilitate workshops with business, compliance, risk and operational stakeholders, providing constructive challenge and driving agreement on required improvements.
  • Support implementation, governance reporting and programme delivery while producing clear, audit-ready documentation suitable for senior stakeholders and regulatory scrutiny.

  • Strong experience in UK Financial Services regulation, with practical knowledge of FCA Consumer Duty, Product Governance/POG and Fair Value Assessment requirements.
  • Proven experience delivering Product Governance, Conduct Risk, Consumer Duty or Distribution Oversight initiatives within Insurance or Financial Services.
  • Hands-on experience designing governance frameworks, controls, procedures, monitoring processes and supporting documentation.
  • Strong understanding of customer outcomes, distribution/third-party oversight and product lifecycle governance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills, with the ability to work effectively across 1st Line, 2nd Line, business and technical teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills, with the ability to work independently and challenge constructively in a consulting environment.
  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and Excel, with experience producing high-quality governance materials for senior management, audit and regulatory review.
