Product Governance & Consumer Duty Specialist
A growing financial services business, backed by strong private equity investment, is looking to appoint a Product Governance & Consumer Duty Specialist into its second-line Compliance function.
This is a newly specialised position, created to bring dedicated ownership and expertise to the firm's Product Governance and Consumer Duty framework as the business continues to grow.
The Opportunity
This is a role for someone who enjoys building, improving and challenging, rather than simply maintaining an established framework.
You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, providing independent second-line oversight and constructive challenge around product governance, customer outcomes and regulatory requirements.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Supporting the continuous development and enhancement of the firm's Product Governance framework.
- Providing oversight against FCA PROD, Consumer Duty and SYSC requirements.
- Leading and supporting product and proposition due diligence and onboarding.
- Overseeing risk-based periodic and trigger-based product reviews.
- Embedding Consumer Duty outcomes and target market assessments into product governance.
- Providing compliance challenge and assurance through the Product Governance Committee.
- Supporting compliance monitoring, analysis, documentation and escalation.
- Working with senior management and accountable SMFs across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
