Product Governance & Distribution Consultant - Insurance

Location: Hybrid - Redhill / London (c. 1 day per week onsite - flexible)
Contract: Initial 3 months, with potential extension
Day Rate: Up to £550 per day outside IR35
Start: ASAP

We are looking for an experienced Product Governance & Distribution Consultant to join a major regulatory transformation programme within a large global financial services organisation.

Working within the Product & Distribution function, you will take ownership of a number of critical deliverables relating to FCA Consumer Duty, product governance, distribution oversight and customer outcomes. This is a hands-on delivery role rather than a project management position. You will be expected to quickly understand the existing environment, identify what good looks like and personally develop the frameworks, processes, assessments and documentation required.

What you'll be doing

You will take ownership of deliverables across areas including:

  • Distribution Oversight: distributor risk assessments, audit frameworks, procedures, controls and supporting documentation
  • Consumer Duty & Customer Outcomes: documenting customer journeys, identifying potential areas of customer harm and developing ongoing monitoring and testing approaches
  • Customer Communications: developing risk assessments and testing frameworks covering communications, policy documentation and intermediary/broker communications
  • Fair Value Assessments: developing and enhancing frameworks to assess whether products continue to provide fair value in line with Consumer Duty requirements
  • Product Governance: designing product change processes, governance routes, RACIs, decision authorities and escalation pathways
  • Translating FCA regulatory expectations into practical, operational processes and controls
  • Working closely with Product, Distribution, Compliance, Risk and other senior stakeholders
  • Producing clear, robust and audit-ready documentation suitable for regulatory scrutiny
  • Supporting the implementation and embedding of new governance processes

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
