Product Governance Manager
Day Rate Contract - Urgent
6 Months
Inside IR35 | Hybrid (London)
Our client, a general insurance business, is looking for an experienced Product Governance Manager to join on a 6-month day rate contract, inside IR35.
This is a hands-on governance role covering the full product lifecycle, from new product assessments through to ongoing monitoring, Fair Value Assessments and distribution oversight. What you'll be doing:
- 📋 Leading annual product reviews, new product assessments and ongoing monitoring
- 💷 Completing Fair Value Assessments: costs, benefits, fees, charges and customer outcomes
- 🔍 Analysing product, customer and distributor MI to spot trends, risks and improvement opportunities
- 🧭 Assessing products against target market needs, flagging and escalating potential customer harm
- 🤝 Coordinating input from Commercial, Compliance, Risk and Operations
- 📊 Presenting findings and recommendations to governance forums and senior stakeholders
- ✅ Owning actions through to completion, challenging stakeholders where needed to keep things on track

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
