Role description

At Tata Technologies we make product development dreams a reality by designing, engineering and validating the products of tomorrow for the world’s leading manufacturers. Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Engineering Release Specialist (ERS) to be based at our customer’s site in Gaydon.

Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.

The Role:

Product Information (PI) is the beating heart of our business. As a department we are responsible for the delivery of coherent and timely Product Specification and Bill of Materials in line with Programme timing.

As a PI Programme Planner, you’ll be accountable for ensuring the timely delivery of accurate configured bills of materials in support of vehicle line & architecture PCDS milestones for multiple model years through development of plans. Leveraging the Integrated Change Process (ICP) you will need to co-ordinate the actions of multiple PI teams. Driving accurate, timely and clean feature sets and bills of materials to support both virtual and physical builds. This exciting and equally stimulating role offers the opportunity to join a critical area within the business.

Due to the nature of our customer engagements, this role is currently open as both an inside IR35 engagement or full-time employed. Remuneration will be determined based on the individual’s relative skill set, experience and overall fit for the role.

Area of Responsibility

  • Using Project Management skills to generate and manage project delivery plans.
  • Understanding programme scope and comprehensive change management skills through ICP.
  • VL OK2UL ownership.
  • Reporting on BoM quality metric & Release Status.
  • Stakeholder Management and negotiation to ensure priorities and critical path are not compromised.
  • Scenario planning, problem solving and risk management.
  • Managing your own throughput and workload.
  • Utilising the Team Resource and Allocation Plan to forecast potential capacity issues.

Key interactions with regular touchpoints will be: Engineering and Delivery Teams, Engineering Technology Centres, Marketing Sales & Service, Plant Launch Teams and internal PI teams.

Knowledge / Experience

Applications are welcomed from individuals who are natural problem solvers and people who enjoy working with and understanding data. The successful candidate will have a “can do” attitude and a logical approach to working through issues as they arise. They will be capable of interacting with a range of different stakeholders and able to manage the workload within the wider PI team.

This is a key role that requires a balance of business capabilities to deliver its key objectives, including, Stakeholder Management skills, Project Management and Problem Solving.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferably educated to degree level in an Engineering or Business-related subject or willing to study for such a qualification. Experience will also be considered.
  • Advanced skills such as VBA, SQL, Tableau etc. are an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the Product Definition process would be an advantage.

  • A candidate who has supervisory skills to motivate a team to enhance the way we support engineering in managing requirements.
  • A confident and articulate person who is able to communicate directly, clearly and openly and can engage with stakeholders at different levels within the business.
  • A determined individual, committed and results-orientated who works with pace, energy, and confidence.
  • A candidate who is comfortable challenging stakeholders with strong influencing and engagement skills.
