Product Lead - 3 month contract - paying up to £500 Outside IR35 - Hybrid (London)
Our client is hiring a Product Lead to build a conversational AI experience that guides customers all the way to completion on-platform - giving them expert, friendly guidance rather than losing them to a phone call or direct provider contact.
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end product design of how the AI agent proactively helps customers at genuine points of hesitation or confusion, without becoming intrusive
- Decide which behavioural and contextual signals justify proactive engagement, including spotting where a signal choice raises a compliance question rather than being a pure build decision
- Apply sales conversation best practice (discovery, objection handling, trust-building) to a conversational AI product
- Own the accuracy and quality of the AI's responses as a core part of the proposition design
- Work with legal and compliance to keep the design compliant with UK data protection and comparison-site regulation, including defining human audit requirements for AI outputs
- Specify how the agent should behave in enough detail for the engineering team to build against
- Define and run a testing framework covering conversation quality and compliance ahead of each rollout stage

What we're looking for

- Direct experience shipping a conversational AI product that measurably replaced or supplemented a real sales or conversion channel
- Strong grounding in what makes a sales conversation convert, from telesales/contact-centre experience or from digital product work that captured it
- Basic technical literacy in how conversational AI agents are built - enough to work productively with engineering without every concept needing to be explained from scratch
