Join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Weapon Systems products at MBDA. As a key member, you will spearhead innovative proposals for architectural solutions across a diverse product range.
Salary: Circa £65,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: Where possible a blended approach to on-site and remote working, depending on business needs. Typically, this could be 2 days per week on-site and 3 days remote working. This role could be full time or part time, 4 or 5 days per week. We are flexible and accommodating. We can also consider term-time and/or compressed hours working patterns.
Location: Stevenage (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to join our highly skilled and dynamic team where you can be at the forefront of influencing MBDA's future Weapon Systems products?
The purpose of the Weapon Systems Operations Product Lead is to own the definition and delivery of product strategies. The role must influence future project roadmaps, policies and technical standards, ensuring compliance with wider Generic Missile/Systems Architecture (GMA/GSA) strategies. Influence project and portfolio decisions, ensuring our products remain cost effective, deliverable and meet the capability requirements of our future customers (domestic and export).
Working to an agreed product line strategy, you will lead and shape new proposals for architectural solutions to the point of acceptance by Project and Delivery Team across a diverse product range.
Key skills include:
- Influence programmes and future projects to adopt the product line approach to development
- Collaborate with stakeholders both in the UK and Internationally
- Connect multiple programmes and business functions to deliver to a common goal and identify future opportunities
- Challenge established processes and "this is how we've always done it" mentality
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with academia, SME's and potential suppliers
This is a delivery focused multifunctional team tasked with design, development and qualification of technically complex, safety critical products for missile proving and series production. We have an unequalled reputation for use of modularity and re-use principals to reduce cost and schedule and risk.

What we're looking for from you:
- Experience in the design and development of electronics, preferably in the defence industry with knowledge of the product sector. With the ability to understand the technology and its potential uses. This role requires someone that can think beyond the ‘here and now' and understand how our products can evolve in the future to meet the company and customer's needs.
- Strategic thinker with strong influencing skills across peer groups and into senior management, both within the UK and International partners.
- Demonstrated experience of defining product strategies and road maps as well as shaping new proposals for architectural solutions to acceptance.
- Ability to write clear and concise engineering documentation and present to all levels of the business.
