Working Pattern

  • Hybrid - 2 days per week in the Vitality Bournemouth, London or Stockport Office. Full time hours per week.

What This Role is All About

This exciting role will form part of a cross-functional team who is accountable for the end-to-end digital customer experience. As a Product Manager, the role is responsible for defining and executing a comprehensive product roadmap and backlog across multiple capabilities, working with a wide range of stakeholders. Accountability includes shaping, designing and delivering features that contribute significantly to the Product Delivery Stream vision and Vitality’s overall business goal. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving capability, alongside an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for driving meaningful change through customer journeys.

Key Actions

  • Design the medium- to long-term product strategy using data, research and senior stakeholder engagement to deliver customer and business value
  • Act as the voice of the customer within scrum teams to ensure delivery of high-quality customer experiences
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and industry developments
  • Play a key role in the Vitality Design process within SAFe Continuous Exploration and Review stages, including:
    • Coordinating ideation to achieve Definition of Ready with cross-functional teams (R&D, Content, Product Design, Engineering)
    • Validating technical feasibility with relevant teams
    • Defining epics and features for delivery within releasable increments
  • Take ownership day-to-day, including:
    • Defining and mapping optimal customer journeys and processes, with clear measurement and continuous improvement
    • Identifying cost and inefficiencies and designing improved processes
    • Prioritising and delivering the 0-3 month roadmap iteratively
    • Managing and maintaining a well-prioritised product backlog with stakeholders
    • Reviewing analytics, sprint and release reporting
  • Prepare work for delivery by:
    • Collaborating with product, business and engineering teams to create aligned user stories
    • Creating feature and story maps for Journey Epics
    • Analysing user needs, requirements, risks, scope and dependencies
    • Leading and planning Journey Epics across Analyse and Implement PIs, managing risks, dependencies and costs
    • Ensuring all user stories are well-defined, documented and maintained with clear acceptance criteria
    • Partnering with UX to ensure designs align to requirements

What Do You Need to Thrive?

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Able to lead and facilitate meetings (e.g. lead workshops to elicit requirements) within business and technical teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with business and technical stakeholders at all levels
  • Able to produce high quality supporting artefacts to assist the team in development of product features
  • Outstanding team working and collaboration skills
