Lead Technical Product Manager – API & Platforms

Location: Manchester, UK

πŸ“Œ Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead Technical Product Manager to own and scale our core API platforms, backend microservices, and data tools. You will lead cross-functional engineering teams to build high-performance systems, improve developer experience, and integrate AI/data solutions across our global platform.

πŸš€ Key Responsibilities

  • Platform & API Strategy: Own the roadmap and backlog for core APIs and microservices, ensuring high availability, speed, and scalability.
  • Technical & AI Execution: Work with engineers and data teams to design data models, APIs (REST/OpenAPI), recommendation engines, and AI workflows.
  • Data Governance: Build clear data policies and frameworks across multi-market products.
  • Agile Delivery: Write clear user stories (BDD/Gherkin), set team OKRs/KPIs, and lead sprint planning across engineering squads.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Bridge the gap between technical engineering teams, business leaders, and executive stakeholders.

πŸ”‘ Key Requirements

  • Experience: 8+ years as a Technical PM managing high-scale APIs, platforms, or data products.
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of API design (OpenAPI/Swagger/Postman), system design, and database tools (SQL/Python basics).
  • AI & Cloud: Exposure to cloud infrastructure (GCP/Azure/AWS) and AI/LLM integrations.
  • Agile & Delivery: Strong experience in Scrum/Kanban, writing technical specifications, and managing delivery cadences.
  • Domain: Experience in e-commerce, travel tech, or large-scale digital marketplaces is a plus.
