Product Manager – Pharmaceutical Ingredients
APIs | Intermediates | Excipients

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Product Manager – Pharmaceutical Ingredients to lead the development and growth of our portfolio of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), pharmaceutical intermediates and excipients across the UK and Ireland.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands the pharmaceutical supply chain, enjoys building strong customer and supplier relationships, and wants to play a key role in developing a successful product portfolio within a dynamic chemicals organisation.
The Role
As Product Manager, you will take ownership of a defined portfolio of pharmaceutical ingredients, working closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams to identify opportunities, develop markets and deliver profitable growth.
You will:
- Develop and implement product strategies for APIs, intermediates and excipients across the UK & Ireland.
- Identify new market opportunities, customers, applications and potential products.
- Build strong relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, formulators, CDMO’s and key suppliers.
- Manage and develop strategic supplier partnerships, including identifying new sources and opportunities.
- Work closely with sales and technical teams to develop new business and support existing customers.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing and regulatory developments.
- Manage product positioning, pricing and commercial performance.
- Support customer projects from initial enquiry through qualification and commercialisation.
- Attend customer meetings, industry events and relevant pharmaceutical exhibitions.
- Develop compelling product propositions and sales tools to support business growth.
- Collaborate across procurement, sales, regulatory, quality and technical functions to ensure excellent customer service.

About You
We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical ingredients market and a genuine commercial focus.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience in pharmaceutical ingredients, APIs, intermediates and/or excipients.
- Degree (or higher) in Pharmaceutical science, chemistry or related disciplines.
- A proven track record in product management, business development or technical sales within the pharmaceutical or chemicals sector.
- An understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing and ingredient supply chains.
- Strong commercial awareness, including pricing, margins and market development.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- The ability to work confidently with both customers and international suppliers.
- A proactive, entrepreneurial approach with the drive to identify and develop new opportunities.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- A willingness to travel across the UK & Ireland, with occasional international travel as required.
