Role Overview
As a Product Manager, you will be able to deliver in significant feature areas within Starling's technology community. Operating as an established individual contributor, you deliver impact through technical mastery, product leadership, and by solving complex problems.
Rather than managing rigid ticket queues or enforcing artificial deadlines, you will work embedded directly alongside engineers, product designers, and QAs in an agile, hands-on spirit to ship high-impact features quickly.
What you'll bring:

- Lots of experience defining and building great products and features for customers whilst answering all of the difficult questions that came up.
- Be able to balance solving complex problems with fast tactical changes. You will need to be good at knowing where our time can be spent most effectively, and making high quality decisions quickly, with data where appropriate.
- Being comfortable operating outside of your comfort zone and dealing with ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to make the complex comprehensible.
- Build relationships across the business and reach compromises to deliver the best outcomes possible.
- Ability to partner seamlessly with software engineers and designers in an engineering-led culture without relying on rigid task management or proxy metrics.

You will be responsible for:
- Helping understand customers needs and lead on the creation and updating of products big and small.
- Help explore opportunities across the product, getting stuck in to data, working on customer research and talking to lots of others right across Starling.
- Working closely with our Customer Service teams and Product QAs to make sure we maintain a high quality product and identify trends or problems.
Requirements
- Ideally you'd have experience/knowledge of banking or finance and an interest in delivering better experiences.
- Experience working on mobile applications, specifically on banking apps would be desirable but not essential.
- Someone who's hands on, keen to learn and can deal with ambiguity.
- Someone with experience identifying the most important issues, compromising with others involved and coming up with the best solution possible.
- Have worked with tech teams before helping to get things built.

Interviewing is a two way process and we want you to have the time and opportunity to get to know us, as much as we are getting to know you!
