Product Manager - Applicant Tracking System
CharityJob is the UK's largest talent marketplace for the charity sector, helping thousands of organisations find the people they need. Over the past few years we've evolved CharityJob from a place where jobs are only advertised into a place where recruiters can manage their hiring workflow together in our applicant tracking system (ATS), with features such as Job Teams, application review and filtering, and interview scheduling.
We're looking for a Product Manager to own our ATS: making sure clients can run their whole hiring process in it, not just receive applications there. You'll take it to its next stage, with deeper workflows, better collaboration, and stronger reporting.
You'll report to the Lead Product Manager and work closely with engineering, design, sales, account management, and the leadership team. You'll own an area that already has real users, with plenty of room to shape where it goes next.
Who You Are
- You have 2+ years in product management, working daily with engineers and owning a backlog, and you've shipped real things, ideally in B2B SaaS or HR tech.
- You're data-literate: you define adoption and engagement metrics, read the numbers honestly, and use them to decide what to build next and what to stop.
- You're passionate about good design and great experiences: you sweat the details and work closely with design to make complex workflows feel simple.
- You balance new features with product health: you know when the right move is to simplify, fix, or remove something rather than keep adding to it.
- You take data protection seriously and can work confidently within UK GDPR when handling candidate data, knowing when to bring in the right experts.
- You're a clear communicator: you can explain what you've built and why to any audience, from engineers and sales to the whole company.
- You care about the charity sector and want your work to matter, helping organisations hire the people they need to make a real difference.

What the Job Involves
- Own the roadmap for our ATS, the tools clients use to manage their hiring: decide what to build next and adjust the plan as you learn from clients.
- Improve the core hiring journey in the ATS, from reviewing applications and moving candidates through stages to scheduling interviews and making offers.
- Drive adoption of our ATS as the place clients run their whole hiring process, define how we measure success, and track progress honestly over time.
- Write clear specs and work daily with engineers and a designer to ship, iterating quickly and making decisions with incomplete information when needed.
- Talk to clients, from small charities with one part-time HR person to large organisations with complex approval processes and many hiring teams.
- Work closely with sales and customer success to hear what clients are saying about our tools, and make sure their insight shapes the features you build.
- Review every source of feedback we have, including NPS and ad hoc surveys, to identify the biggest customer problems and define the right solutions.
- Work with our Research Manager to define the research questions worth answering and the best methods to answer them, from interviews to surveys.
- Present the features you build to the whole company at our product demos, so everyone knows what we've built, why we built it, and how it helps clients.

Details
- Salary: £68,000 to £72,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Location: Hybrid, two days a week in our office (Tuesdays and Thursdays) at 10 Church Grove, Hampton Wick, Kingston upon Thames KT1 4AL. The rest of the week is remote.
- Visa sponsorship: We're unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role, so you'll need the right to work in the UK.
