Join Police Digital Service as a Product Manager
Permanent. Full Time. Salary starting at £55,000 per annum.
You will play a pivotal role across both new capability development and the operational ‘run’ of these products, working with internal teams, suppliers and policing stakeholders to ensure services remain fit-for-purpose, well governed and responsive to customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Product strategy and planning - develop and maintain the product strategy for Microsoft 365, Modern Workplace, End User Compute and affiliated enterprise products, aligned to PDS objectives, customer needs, governance expectations, budgets and technology roadmaps.
- Multi-customer tenant and EUC provision - oversee a secure, scalable and well governed multi-customer Microsoft 365 tenant environment, including associated End User Compute provision, ensuring services can adapt to future increases in customer demand while balancing shared standards, controls and service expectations.
- Modern Workplace capability - manage collaboration, productivity, workplace and device-related services across the M365 ecosystem, working with technical, security and service teams to ensure capabilities are configured, adopted, supported and continually improved.
- Enterprise product management - manage affiliated business products such as corporate HR, Finance and travel management systems, ensuring services remain fit-for-purpose, integrated where appropriate and aligned to policy, supplier obligations and operational needs.
- Roadmap and backlog ownership - define, prioritise and maintain product roadmaps and backlogs, taking account of risk, demand growth, service improvement, technical dependencies, licensing, capacity planning and delivery constraints.
- Design, implementation and transition - oversee enhancements to M365, Modern Workplace, EUC and enterprise application capabilities, ensuring appropriate configuration, integration, testing, scalability and transition into live service.
- Performance, adoption and improvement - monitor service performance, usage, adoption, feedback and demand trends to identify improvements, remove scaling constraints and ensure products continue to meet stakeholder needs.
- Governance, risk and security - manage product risks, issues and dependencies, ensuring appropriate security, compliance, information governance and change controls across shared tenant, EUC and enterprise services.
- Supplier, contract and financial oversight - manage suppliers and service providers, monitor performance against contracts and service levels, and support licensing, technology and resource cost management, including forecasting and cost recovery for current and future customer consumption.
- Documentation and reporting - maintain product documentation, including service descriptions, support models, configuration records, risks/issues and roadmap plans; provide regular reporting to governance forums and stakeholders.
- Customer advocacy and stakeholder engagement - represent PDS and policing customer needs in decisions, governance discussions, project/programme boards and product forums.
- Support, escalation and delivery leadership - help resolve product issues, promote effective adoption, act as an escalation point and support agile planning, refinement, reviews and retrospectives.

What You Need To Succeed In The Role
- Significant experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner or product leader for enterprise technology services, ideally including Microsoft 365, Modern Workplace, End User Compute, collaboration platforms or shared enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of M365 and Modern Workplace capabilities, including collaboration, productivity, identity-enabled access, tenant governance, security, adoption, EUC provision and operational support models.
- Experience managing products or services delivered across multiple customer groups, balancing shared platform standards, customer-specific requirements, governance controls and service expectations.
- Experience managing or working with enterprise business systems such as HR, Finance, travel management or similar supplier-managed/SaaS corporate platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to assess service performance, user needs, data, risk and dependencies to support evidence-based product decisions.
- Able to manage competing priorities, customer demand and delivery dependencies while maintaining focus on agreed outcomes, deadlines, quality and value for money.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical, commercial and service concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and senior decision-makers.
- Able to work collaboratively across product, service management, technical, security, commercial, finance and supplier teams, demonstrating integrity, confidentiality and sound judgement.
- Practical experience of agile methodologies, backlog management, roadmap planning and iterative delivery; Certified Scrum Product Owner or equivalent is desirable.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, customer advocacy and service adoption, with familiarity in service transition, change control, release management, DevSecOps, CI/CD or equivalent delivery practices preferred.

Working Arrangements
This is a remote role with some national travel required to attend meetings.
All applicants must be eligible to undergo NPPV3 (Non Police Personnel Vetting Level 3) and SC vetting clearances. Successful applicants will require NPPV3 clearance to have been cleared before starting with PDS.
