The Opportunity

Basis Technologies is hiring a Product Manager to own the strategy and roadmap for ActiveControl and BDEx, two established, revenue-generating products trusted by some of the world's largest enterprises to run business-critical SAP operations. ActiveControl automates SAP change and transport management; BDEx handles exception management in utilities billing and customer-service operations.

Products at this stage of maturity do not need a caretaker; they need an owner. Working closely with Engineering, a Product Owner counterpart and our go-to-market teams, you will give both products a clear, commercially grounded strategy. That means deepening value for the existing customer base, protecting and growing recurring revenue, prioritising ruthlessly across enhancement requests, competitive gaps and platform evolution (including the shift in the SAP ecosystem toward S/4HANA and cloud), and making sure the voice of the customer, not the loudest stakeholder, drives the roadmap.

This is a role for a product practitioner with genuine depth, not a generalist manager. Deep SAP expertise is not a prerequisite; a strong enterprise B2B software background is, and the SAP domain can be learned.

In This Role You Will

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap: define and communicate a clear direction for ActiveControl and BDEx, grounded in customer insight, market and competitor research, and commercial priorities.
  • Lead continuous discovery: run regular customer and prospect engagements, win and loss reviews and user research to identify the highest-value problems to solve.
  • Prioritise across competing demands: balance new capability, customer enhancement requests, technical investment and ecosystem compatibility, such as SAP release cycles, into a coherent and defensible roadmap.
  • Partner with go-to-market teams: work with Sales, Customer Success and Marketing on positioning, pricing input, launches, enablement, and supporting key deals and renewals.
  • Manage stakeholders: engage executives, customers and partners, communicating the roadmap, trade-offs and progress clearly and credibly.
  • Define and track outcomes: set success metrics across adoption, retention, expansion and satisfaction, and use them to steer the roadmap.
  • Set delivery teams up to succeed: give Engineering and your Product Owner counterpart clear problem framing, context and priorities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Is This Opportunity For You?

  • Demonstrable experience in product management for enterprise B2B software.
  • A track record of owning mature or established products, balancing innovation against the realities of a large installed base, long-term customer commitments and recurring revenue.
  • Strong discovery and research skills: comfortable getting in front of enterprise customers, synthesising input and saying no with evidence.
  • Experience applying lean product principles, using rapid prototyping, wireframing or mockups to test and validate solutions with customers before committing engineering effort.
  • Commercially aware: you have worked closely with Sales and Customer Success and understand how product decisions affect pipeline, renewals and expansion.
  • Data-informed prioritisation, and the ability to communicate a roadmap clearly to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.

Desirable

  • SAP experience. Familiarity with the SAP ecosystem, for example change and transport management or S/4HANA programmes, would be a real advantage, as would exposure to DevOps and ITSM tooling or the utilities sector. Not essential, the domain can be learned.
