Role: Product Manager Assistant – EV Products

As a Product Manager Assistant – EV Products, you will play a key role in supporting the management and development of our electric vehicle charging portfolio, including both AC and DC charging solutions. Working closely with the EV Product Team, you will help ensure our products remain compliant, competitive, and market-ready by maintaining accurate product testing, certification, and compliance records. You will also be responsible for tracking firmware version control, coordinating product information, and providing essential administrative support across the product lifecycle.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Understanding of AC/DC EV charger technology
  • Familiarity with OCPP, OZEV/EV ChargePoint Grant, and ENA requirements
  • Strong organisational skills — comfortable managing documentation, records, and version logs
  • Methodical and detail-focused, particularly with compliance paperwork and firmware tracking
  • Good communicator, able to work across technical, compliance, and commercial teams
  • Comfortable working on-site at Burton on Trent

Regulatory & Technical Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of AC and DC EV charging technologies and associated compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of key EV industry standards and regulations, including OCPP, ENA G98/G99, the EV ChargePoint Grant (formerly OZEV), and Smart Charge Point Regulations.
  • Familiarity with UKCA marking and relevant BS EN / IEC standards for EV charging equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical and regulatory requirements to support product compliance and certification activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date product testing, certification, and compliance documentation for all AC and DC EV charging products.
  • Monitor certification approvals, renewal dates, and compliance requirements, proactively identifying upcoming deadlines and potential gaps.
  • Liaise with testing laboratories, certification bodies, and suppliers to support product approvals and ongoing compliance activities.
  • Ensure all technical, compliance, and product records are organised, maintained, and audit-ready.
  • Manage firmware version control records across the EV charger portfolio, ensuring documentation remains current and accurate.
  • Track firmware releases, updates, change logs, and deployment status for each product model.
  • Identify and escalate outdated, unsupported, or non-compliant firmware versions to the Product Manager.
  • Support the coordination of firmware updates and technical changes with manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Maintain product specifications, technical datasheets, user documentation, and product information libraries.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Product Manager, including assisting with product testing, recording results, tracking product issues, and supporting continuous product improvement initiatives.
