Build the tools that let sustainable infrastructure scale
I'm working with a well backed, high growth business in the clean energy and sustainable infrastructure space. They design, fund, install and operate physical infrastructure across the UK, and they are growing considerably faster than forecast.
Scaling that kind of business is not primarily a software problem on the surface. It is a problem of site surveys, approvals, permits, installation and ongoing maintenance, repeated tens of thousands of times over. Today, too much of that still runs on manual effort and clunky tooling.
This role exists to change that.
What you'll be doing
- Owning the product vision and multi-quarter roadmap for the internal tools the business uses to deploy and manage its infrastructure at scale
- Working directly with operations, field teams, commercial and finance to understand how work actually gets done, then turning that into product opportunities
- Running structured discovery, so user interviews, observing people at work, and digging into the data
- Tackling the biggest operational bottlenecks first, starting with approvals and permitting
- Defining requirements and acceptance criteria, then partnering with engineering leads through delivery
- Making build versus buy calls on where off the shelf platforms serve better than building in house
- Finding and implementing real use cases for AI inside business workflows, from operational processes through to functions like legal review
- Producing the documentation, user guides and training materials that make adoption stick

What they're looking for
- 4+ years in product management, with a genuine track record on internal tools or operational platforms
- Strong discovery skills. This is a role for someone who goes and finds the problem rather than waiting to be handed one
- Comfortable translating messy operational reality into clear requirements for engineers
- Confident with non-technical stakeholders, including people out in the field
- Start up or scale up background. This is hands-on, with no layers to hide behind
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI, and ideally experience embedding it into internal processes or tools

Nice to have
- Background in energy, utilities, telecoms, logistics, construction tech or field service
- Experience with site lifecycle, asset management or field service platforms
